Ecobee Thermostats

SDG&E is providing their small business customers with no-cost ecobee thermostats! Some BPCP institutions have already installed these thermostats, is your institution or business eligible?

SDG&E has installed and provided business customers with thousands of ecobee Programmable Communicating Thermostats (PCTs) at no cost. Customers have found these smart thermostats easy to operate and it allows more control over energy use – which maximizes energy savings. Customers get alerts from SDG&E to lower their energy use on high energy use days, called Reduce Your Use Days, typically during the hot summer months. These PCTs will either automatically adjust the temperature by 4 degrees or cycle the HVAC units at 50%. Reduce Your Use Days occur on average 9 days a year, but can occur up to 18 days annually. By participating in Reduce Your Use days, customers help lessen the strain on the grid by shifting their energy use. One great feature of PCTs is that you can make temperature adjustments remotely. This PCT offer is available through December 31, 2016. For more information or to determine if you are eligible to receive the no-cost thermostat, please visit sdge.com/bizthermostats.

“The free ecobee thermostats have been an excellent upgrade to our facility. The savings have already been significant and they have been easy to operate. We are happy with our choice to upgrade to ecobee and we are recommending the units to everyone who has asked.”
