This online class gives you the chance to chat online with author and exhibit designer Nina Simon. Simon is author of The Participatory Museum, where she presents techniques for cultural institutions to invite visitor participation while promoting institutional goals. The online chat session will be followed by a facilitated discussion on audience participation in museums and cultural institutions. Cost: $12.

Program Expert
Nina Simon is an independent experience designer with expertise in participatory design, gaming, and social technology. She is the principal of Museum 2.0, a design firm that works with museums, libraries, and cultural institutions worldwide to create dynamic, audience-driven exhibitions and educational programs. In addition to design work, Nina lectures and gives workshops on visitor participation. She is an adjunction professor of social technology in the University of Washington Museology program. Nina authors the Museum 2.0 blog, which also appears as a column in Museum magazine. Previously, Nina served as Curator at The Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose, CA, and was the Experience Development Specialist at the International Spy Museum in Washington, D.C.

Experienceology
Stephanie Weaver is principal in the firm Experienceology, which works with organizations to create memorable customer experiences. With a background in film and public health, she has spent over fifteen years developing programs, exhibitions, special events, and conducting visitor studies at major museums, including the Chicago Children's Museum, Chicago Botanic Garden, and San Diego Zoo.
