Balboa Park Sustainability Program

Balboa Park is fast becoming a cornerstone for other cities to watch. Through collaboration and ongoing communication, the Sustainability Program has developed a shared vision for “greening” Balboa Park. It continues to advance solutions that will help protect Park resources and strengthen economic viability, while enhancing visitor experience and enjoyment.  The Partnership seeks to bring Balboa Park into greater environmental balance by 2015 by incorporating collaborative sustainable practices Park-wide. These conservation efforts save money and natural resources, work towards the long-term preservation of the Park, and enable the  cultural institutions to direct more funds to serving the community.

The Balboa Park Cultural Partnership serves as the collaborative body and collective voice for 26 arts, science, and cultural institutions in Balboa Park. Together we achieve greater effectiveness, innovation, and excellence and contribute to the vitality and sustainability of Balboa Park. Our collective 500 trustees, 7,000 volunteers, and 3,500 staff serve more than 6.2 million visitors annually.
