UCSD's Calit2 hosts The Greenovation Forum: International Year of Water Cooperation
Submitted by amanda on Thu, 03/28/2013 - 2:22pm2013 was designated by the United Nation General Assembly as the year to put the issue of providing freshwater access around the globe on the forefront of all agendas and to address the importance of a multidisciplinary approach and cooperation to effectively manage freshwater resources. Join UCSD's Calit2 for The Greenovation Forum: International Year of Water Cooperation on Wednesday, April 10 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public but registration is required.

Rory was a true force of nature, a wise companion, and a visionary who has left an indelible mark on our community. In the same way that she cultivated a thriving program to help "Green Balboa Park," Rory cultivated abiding friendships, leaving us with memories that will not soon be forgotten. Those who had the honor of knowing and working with Rory - and there are many of us - recall the bright spirit, smile, and energy that she exhibited in her life and work.
Sustainability Themes Identified on March 8 Walk About
Thank you to all who contributed and participated in a very successful walk about on Friday, March 8, 2013. Each time BPCP hosts an event in this informal learning series, the community learns something new about Balboa Park’s sustainability work, institutions and exhibits. Participants identified Park-wide themes throughout the tour and discussed their impressions of Balboa Park’s greening efforts. Here are just some of the themes that came out of the four locations:

Green Boot Camp
Educating Middle School Teachers with Honeywell
Thursday, June 27, 2013 - 1:00pm - 4:00pm
This program is in partnership with Honeywell and is an extension of BPCP's Sustainability Walk-About series. Honeywell's Green Boot Camp is an intensive five-day, hands-on interactive educational experience to help educators become familiar with the latest methods of instruction to teach green and sustainable topics, methods, lessons and concepts to middle school students at their respective schools.
GAP All Team Meeting #5
Friday, June 28, 2013 - 1:00pm - 4:30pm
Earlier this year, the Old Globe Theatre and San Diego Air & Space Museum have opened up their buildings as learning laboratories to the Green Assistance Program (GAP) through the San Diego Green Building Council with the goal of documenting and submitting all data required by the LEED certification process. Data is collected throughout the month and reported back at the monthly All Team meetings.
