2018 Commendations

In 2018, the Sustainability Program celebrated ten years of continued sustainability efforts in Balboa Park with the arts, culture, and science organizations. At the 2018 Balboa Park Sustainability Forum, the Sustainability Program received recognition from Congresswoman Susan Davis, Assemblymember Todd Gloria, and Councilmember Chris Ward for ten years of the program’s sustainability success and five years of the Sustainability Forum.

2017 Sustainability Excellence Award

On May 8th, 2017, in St. Louis, MO, the American Alliance of Museums presented the Balboa Park Cultural Partnership with a Sustainability Excellence Award (SEA) for its 2016 Sustainability Studio exhibit. The SEA recognizes sustainability efforts in facilities, programming, and exhibits in both large and small institutions. Read our blog post to learn more.

2015 SDG&E Energy Grand Champions

The Balboa Park Cultural Partnership and the City of San Diego were honored as Co-Grand Energy Champions at SDG&E’s 10th Annual Energy Showcase on June 18, 2015. From 2013-2015 our member institutions saved 2.5 million kWh, 9,996 therms and an estimated $450,000! Learn more.

SDG&E Energy Champion Award

On May 8 2013, at the 8^th Annual SDG&E Energy Showcase event, the Balboa Park Cultural Partnership was honored by SDG&E as an Energy Champion for our outstanding results in energy efficiency and conservation.  By working together, this group has achieved dramatic energy savings through a variety of methods including building audits, energy efficiency upgrades and education. 2010 Sustainability Showcase Award for Commercial Buildings

BPCP was honored by the California Sustainability Alliance with the 2010 Sustainability Showcase Award for Commercial Buildings for our demonstration of exemplary leadership in advancing sustainability goals in their operations and communities.
